CLAUDELANDS STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports :— At our Claudelands yards last Thursday all classes of stock were well represented. Ther;e was a goood attendance of buyers and practically everything was sold. In the beef pens some nice quality steers were yarded, mostly light weights; also a number of heavy prime cows, the steers making £5 15s, £6, ' £6 10s to £7 17 6d for heavy cattle. Extra prime cows £5 10s to £6 17s 6d. lighten fat cows £3 10s to £5, forward to killable cows £2 5s to £3, store cows 17s 6d to £2. Included in the younger cattle -were the advertised Jersey eyarlings, and ofi those will proved butter-fat backing there was strong competition, a pen being sold at £ll ss. The balance was passed in at that figure. Other Jersey yearlings £5 5s to £7 17s 6d, small Jersey Cross yearlings £2 Ils, other yearling heifers £2 4s to £3 ; Bs, AU the sheep yarded found ready buyers. Prime fat wethers made 29s 9d, smaller 24s 6d, fat and forward ewes 17s to 19s 6d; hoggets 17s 6d. For good quality springing heifers ther.e was a good sale, Jerseys close to profk making £lO to £l4 10s, Shorthorns to £9 5s ; best dairy cows, to £lO 10s, others £5 to £B, backward and poor from £2 upwards. A sufficient number Of pigs were penned to enable otuside buyers to operate, baconers making to £3, pbrkers £1 7s to £1 17 s 6d. weaners 17s to £l.
