The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports At Hamilton on Tuesday, August 23, we had a full entry of beef, but t,he yarding of; store cattle was ■small. Sheep and pigs were also in short 1 .supply/ Beef sold steadily tlirougtiI out, last week’s values being maintained. Best steers sold from £8 to II £9 9s, lighter weights from £6 10 to £7 15s, unfinished sorts £5 to £6. Fat
-nows were not so plentiful as at recent sales, but were well competed for. Heavy cows made to £6 2s 6d, lighter sorts £3 12s 6d to £4 125.. A few pens of 3%-year stci’e steers drew fair competition, realising from £3 14s to £4 10s; 2-year sheers (rough) from £2 5s to £2 10s; yearling heifers (smtpl) £2; storp cows £1 10s to £2. Practically no fat sheep were penned. Very forward wethers made from 25s 9d to 26s 10d. Pigs were in small numbers. Medium baconers made to £2 16s; medium porkers 37s to £2 2s 6d, small 30s to 35s ; slips 21s to 28s ; weaners 15s to 16s.
