HAMILTON STOCK SALE.

The Farmers’ 00-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports

At Hamilton on Tuesday last we had a heavy yarding pfl cattle and an average yarding of sheep and pigs, values for fat sheep seemed a trifle easier that the previous' week, but in all cases a clearance was effected. Wethers made from 25s to -295, ewes from -23 s to 23s 9d, hoggets from 19s to £1 Is ; store hoggets were keenly competed for .and advanced in value, I medium quality making up to 17s, | small from 14s 2d to 15s Id. A line of' fl.m. ewes in lamb failed to reach owne.’s reserve at auction but was afterwards quitted at 21s 9d. Beef was in plentiful supply, although many of the bullocks required finishing. V alues advanced considerably en recent rates, best steers reaching £lO 4s, medium weight £7 10s to £9, light to £6 2s. Fat cows were in very keen demand, the best making £7 17s, medium weights £3 12s 6d to £4 10s. Steers in forward condition were also sought after, making from £4 JOs to £5 ss. A large number of grown steers in store condition were yarded, but these did not meet with, a very cordial reception under the hammer. All were, however, cleared by private treaty aflterwards. The best made from £3 12s 6d to £4 as. smalitr £2 15s to £3 ss. A very nice line of 150 2-year steers was passed in, bidding on the class being below the standard lately ruling. Other small lots oif two-year steers were from £1 Ils .to £2 13s.“Empty heifers were penned in large numbers, being in excess of demand.. Prices were again easier, 2-year-olds making to £3 10s; yearlings from £2. 7s to £2 15s. Only a few flat pigs were yarded

and a full yarding of stores were offered. Prices all round were easier than those repotred the previous •week. Medium to heavy baconers £2 19s to £3 2s, good porkers to light baconers £2 10s to £2 18s, medium porkers £2 2s to £2 Bs, light and unfinished 28s to 38s, slips 18s to 255, small and poor 8s to 15s; weaners made up to 15s.
