Improvements to the Turua roads have been delayed by the stranding of the scow Edith on Hie beach near Miranda. The Edith was engage 1 in bringing metal to Turua for repairs to the Piako Road, and, with a full load of metal, was blown on lo the beach last Friday. The vessel is slightly damaged, and it is reported it wi’l be about a fortnight before she will be refloated and repairs effected.
