PAEROA BENEVOLENT FUND.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the above was helj on Friday last, His Worship tiho Mayor, Mr P. E. Brenan, presiding. The following report was adopted : “ Yc-iir committee in presenting their annual report have to say that durinq the past-year the-income has been £1 13s 4d, being, interest on amount standing tp the fund’s credit in the Savings Bank, .and' the expenditure £1 4s, being advertising 14s and bank charges 10s. “ Your committee are thankful to announce that during the past yeai ■there have been no calls on the fund, and on that account no appeal has been made for funds, thus ceasing the burden on generous citizens. “ The annual statement cf receipts and expenditure is before you' and we recommend the adoption of same. “ During the year the honorary secretary, Mr H. T. Stevens, has resigned owing to his leaving the district. and we desire to place on record our appreciation of his services, The duties of secretary have been carried out by Miss M. Shaw.” The balance sheet .showed a credit balance of £53 9s 2d,

The committee appointed for the anssing year were: Messrs P. E Brenan (chairman), W. Marshal], WJ. Towers, J. Couper, F. E. Flatt, Mrs Poland, and Miss Sbaw (secretary).
