LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
PLAINS WATER SUPPLY Sir —I have seen the account of the last meeting of- the Hauraki Plaint County Council in a recent issue of your paper and read with interest the discussion over t'he question cf a water supply for the Plains I was glad to see that a scheme had been brought forward by Messrs Lockie Gannon and Worley for bringing the supply from' the Western ranges: I have been a resident of the Plains for the last sixteen years, and it ha?, been my opinion always that a good supply of water could be got from the ranges;
The question of water supply is a most important one for the Plains and should be tackled at once: Every farmer knows that successful cattle raising or dairying cannot be done without a good supply, and I feel sure I hat I am voicing the feelings of all the farmers on the Plains when I say that the Council should go into the matter right now. I take this opportunity of urging this course on the Council, and trust that this matter and the very sound scheme submitted by the firm will not bo pigoen-ilioled as is the fate cf so many good schemes R. MUIR. Patetonga. July 24
