KEREPEEHI. SCHOOL CONCERT. It was a most enjoyable and remarkably creditable performance that was given by the Kerepeehi school children at a concert he’d in the hall on Fiiday evening, and it reflects great credit on- the headmaster (Mr. J. Twist), his assistant (Miss L. R. Evans), and Mrs. Murdoch, for the great, patience and long, weary hours of practice which must have been required to bring the young people’s performance to the high standard reached. The programme was a bright one, and included many original items. The introductory item, featuring the perfoiming donkey (Phil, Innis), its trainer (G. Dixop), and the town crier (W. Hughes), was successful, and a prologue by Sylvia Taylor was good. An action song, “O, Soldier, Sbldier,” was exceptionally good, the main performers being Lizzie Kotara, Nikau Baggs, and G. Dixon. A playette, “Little Red Riding Hood,” was intror duced and went off successfully. The characters were Nellie Fisher (Mother), Mona Twist (Red Riding Hood). Eric Potter (the bear), and Rang; Pirimona (the grandmother), while the following were also included : Audrey Booth, Shirley Troughton, Thelma Taylor, Violet Peter, and Jack Hoff. “The Hat Shop” was another good item, given by Sylvia Taylor, Marie Devereaux, Naomi Chatfield, Rana Taylor, Margaret Smith, and Mona Twist. Other items were given by Edna Aro, Nellie Fisher, Mona Twist, Jason Aro, Sylvia Taylor, Naomi Chatfield, Eric Petter, Gladys Palmer, Jack Hoff, Clarice Davies, Marie Devereaux. Phil. Innis, Rana Taylor, and Winnie Jury. The concert concluded with a good-night chords. Mr Booth, chairman of the school committee, during the evening thank-* ed the football club for postponing their dance in favour of the children. There were lohlie stalls at the hall, and the evening was also a success financially, the proceeds being about £l4. TURUA. SPORTS CLUB DANCE. The monthly dance of the Hauraki Plains Athletic and Sports Club was held in the Victoria Hall on Thursday. There was a good attendance and it was one of the most successful yet held by the club. Mrs H. Brown and Mr D. Hill supplied the music with piano and violin, while Mesdames Goodsell and Mules obliged with extras. Mr W. Clark was M.CWAITAKARURU. PICTURE BENEFIT. A successful picture benefit was given fop the local hall funds at Waitakaruru on Saturday evening by Mr H. A. Hamilton. The hall was crowded and a good programme was screened. After the pictures supper was served, and the floor cleared for a dance, which, about 25 couples attended. The dance music was played by Henderson’S orchestra. PATETONGA. SUNDAY SCHOOL SOCIAL The Patetonga Sunday School; children spent a very enjoyable afternoon on Saturday, when a very successful social was held. A dance took place in .the evening. During the course of the entertainment songs and recitations were rendered. The function was ararnged by Mrs Fitness, who was given three cheers before the gathering broke up. PIPIROA. CREAM CONTRACT. A Meeting of Pipiroa setters was held on Friday, Mr. J. Clark presiding. H was decided to .accept W. D. D.algety's tender for carting cream for Pipiroa area at 19/6 per trip.
