ENTERTAINMENTS.
CENTRAL THEATRE PICTURES TO-NIGHT. “ALIAS JIMMY VALENTINE.” Presumably taking a hint from the song, everyone is looking out for “ Alias Jimmy Valentine.” In this case it is Metro’s screen version of t.he famous Paul Armstrong drama, with Bert Lytell the star; and it is to be shown this evening. As may be recalled, Jimmy Valentine is a prisoner in Sing Sing on a charge of bank robbery, and has earned the enmity of the brutal warder because he always “ plays the gentleman.” Jimmy has the reputation of being a master cracksman who opens safes without burglar’s implements, relying upon his extremely sensitive touch to feel the slight jar of the tumblers in the combination of safes. Winat followed —the effect of Jimmy's reputation and the possessoin of this odd skill on his after life—foi]ms one of the most thrilling, breath catching melodramas ever written.
