LADIES. The best cards returned for ths first round of the President’s Trophy were as follow: Miss L. Thorp, 125 — 29—96 ; Mrs. Budd, 126—30—96'; Mrs. Bain, 132—33—99 ; Miss F. Walmsley, 120—21—99. The following ladies will play against Thames on the local links on Saturday: Mrs Hunger, Miss L. Thorp Miss F. Walmsley, Mrs Budd Mi’s Bain, Mrs Silcock, Miss Bain; emergencies, Miss E. Walmsley, Mrs McDougall. Ladies are reminded that the general. tea is to be provided. MEN. On Saturday the men played the first round of the President’s Trophy. Millei, 98—14—84, gets three points; Dales, 109—24—85, gets two points ; Martin and H. Budd tied for the third position (one point)). These two players will play off to decide the winner of. the third point. On Saturday next the Paeroa Club will play the Thames Club on the Paeroa links. The men’s, team will be selected from the following: Colbeck, Budd, Budd, Miller, Bishop, Gorrie, Towers, Steed-man, Hanna, Towers,- Dales, Kenny, Moresby, and Byrne. At a meeting of the general committee it was decided to get the score cards bound into blocks of twelve, a block to be issued to every club member.. Players requiring other block?, before the second, free issue may obtain same from the secretary at 6d a block. The committee decided to adopt the above change in the issuing of cards with the hope or stopping the great waste of scoring cards A general meeting of the club will be held shortly to go into the question of holding a golf ball, this year.
