ATHLETIC CLUB.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE/ A committee meeting of the Paeroa Athletic Association was held in the Paeora Engineering Co.’s premises las’- evening, the attending committee being’ Messrs G. H. Taylor, H. A l . Marks, D. Leach, E. Russell, N. C. Busby. R. Irwin, J. T. Brown, W. HBroyd (treasurer), and H. Hieatt (secretary). An apology for absence was received from Mr. R. B. Penjingtor.. Mr. J. T. .Brown was elected to the chair. Mr. G. H. Taylor moved, and Mr. D, Leach seconded, that Mr. P. E. Brenan be president of the Association and that Mr. J. T. Brown be chairman of- committee—Carried On the motion of Mr. Russell, sec onded by MT.. Leach, it was decided that the gymnasium uniform be white sweaters or cut-away singlets, white shorts or trousers, and rubber-solei shoes or boots. It was moved by Mr. Taylor, and seconded by Mr. Broyd* that a gymnasium shield be obtained consisting of dark blue background having P.A.A inscribed thereon in gold lettering.—Carried. Mr. Busby proposed, and Mr. Leach seconded, that the hours of the gymnasium shall be from 7.30 p.m. to 10 p.m. for seniors and from 7.30 p.m. to 9.15 p.m. for juniors ; and that the night of practice be decided by the committee at next, meeting.—Carried. It was decided, on the motion of Mr. Marks, seconded by Mr. Leach, that all instructors shall wear distinctive badge or sash.
On the motion of Messrs.. Busby and Taylor it was agreed that the only gear to be used was that provided by the Association.
Mr. Russell) moved, and Mr. Busby seconded, that this committee meeting bo adjourned until Monday, July 3. In the interim members to ascertain the amount off. gear procurable from sources mentioned, and also the probable cost of the bajanee ofi gear proposed this evening. Also, that Mr. Marks make a personal canvass with a view to ascertaining the names pf those seniors willing to become members at a sum of 10s and an entrance fee of a similar amount, provided that the gear discussed this evening be guaranteed by the Association. — Carried,
.It was also proposed that Mr. Marks solicit donations with a view to placing the Association on a substantial financial basis.
