DROWNING ACCIDENT.
BODY RECOVERED. The body of the Maori boy, Ronga Kino, was recovered on Friday. It will be remembered that the deceased was missed from his home on Friday, 16th inst., and later on his empty canoe was found drifting down the Ohinemuri River. From the fact that a stick which the deceased carried, and also that the mooring rope was coiled up in the canoe, it was surmised that an accident .had occurred. Dragging operations have been carried out ever since by the natives and others, and on Friday Mr. C. Mborehouse discovered the body, which had then been in the water a week. The body was brought to the morgue and an inquest was held by the coroner, Mr. W. M. Wallnutt, on Saturday, the verdict being that deceased was found drowned, there being no evidence to show liow he got into the water.
