The thirteen-year-old boy who left his home in Dunedin a few days ago with his mother’s bag, conta’ning £5O, and was not found by the police till next day, appeared in the Juvenile Court (states the Dunedin "Star”). C.hief Detective Bishop said th a,t the boy had been “playing the wag” flrora school. His mother decided to take him to school herself, but while she was dressing he dec-mped with the bag containing the money. W.hen the boy was caught he had £2B odd on him, and stated that lie had planted £l6 in the bush. A search was made, but this money had not yet been found. Last year he had cleared out and was caught at Waikouoiti. The juvenile probation officer said that the boy came from a very good and respectable .home. The last few months, however, he had taken a dislike te school, but had now promised .to attend regularly. He would recommend that the boy -should be placed under control for a certain period. The Magistrate (Mr. J. R.
