TURUA ROADS SCHEME.

THREE PROPOSALS SUPPORTED. CONCESSION TO TOWN AREA. A meeting of the southern area concerned in the Turua permanent roads scheme was held in the Huirau Road factory, Mr. D. G. McMillan presiding over a very good attendance, practically every ratepayer in the area being present. While supporting the three separate proposals submitted io a recent general meeting of ratepayers, the meeting agreed to make a concession to the town area The form of. the concession is to include in the southern area 40 chains of the town area’s main road, in an endeavour to lighten the burden of the townspeople. It was also decided no.t to include any portion of the Wharepoa Ferry-Kere-peshi Road in the scheme unless, a Government subsidy Is obtained for this section.
