The Church of England children’s annua! missionary juihble sale is to be held in the Parish Hall to (morrow.. The proceeds of this funct on are devoted to the Young’ People’s Union Missionary , Funds. The young scholars have been concentrating for •some time on this event,, and are looking forward to a bright afternoon’s business with the stalls of clothing, vegetables, lollies, and afternoon teas.

Mr J. C; Miller was re-elected chairman of the Hauraki Plains County Council at the statutory meet ing on Wednesday, and Mr A. R. Robinsion re-elected for the Ohifiemuri, and Mr F. W. Walters re-elect-ed for Piako ; and Mr Henry Lowe was re-elected for Thafnes County Council.

Good progress is being made by the Thames Valley Power Bpard with ths erection of their poles on the Hauraki Plains. Poles have been erected along the Wharepoa Ferry-Kerepeeh’ Road as'far as the junction of the road to Ngatea, while one of the Board’s motor lorries is busy carting poles from Ngatea and. depositing them on the Ngatea-Kerepeehi road. Some of, the Board’s workmen are now camped at Ngatea.

The Thames County Council and the Thames Borough Council have promised £5OO each for a war mem, orial at Thames. Also, two private firms have promised £5OO each. Tn addition there are two promises of £2OO each, one of £lso,*seven of. £lOO each fifteen of £5O each' one of £4O six of £25 each, one of £2O, and eight of £lO each, making a grand total of £4292.
