One of the most i mportant things in forwarding a district movement is that organisation should be active when the state of public opinion is favourable to the reception of proposals that are projected. Just now the people of Paeroa and of the Hauraki Plains are very favourably disposed towards the Paeroa- Plains railway project, and it would be good policy to arrange for a combined meeting of Plains and Paeroa people at Ngatea to discuss the subject. The promoters of .such a meeting would require to have some definite proposals on paper for submission to the meeting, so that those present would have some prepared scheme to debate especially in regard to finance. It is along these lines that practical headway can be made with the Paeroa-Plains railway scheme.
