Mclndpe, .the referee in the match, in a report to the Union explained that when the kick was- made his vision was obscured, but in his opinion it was a drop-kick. He, however, would rather see the match replayed. Mr Cashen said that in all cases the Union should uphold the referee’s decision; but as the referee suggested that the match be replayed, the Union should give effect to the suggstipn. It was decided that the match be replayed if the result would affect the competition. PLAYER REPORTED. Mr D. G. McMillan, referee, reported that in the Kerepeehi-Ngatea senior match the previous Saturday- a Kerepeehi player had walked off thefield. The player had explained that he had not felt well, but the incident had occurred after a decision made by the referee was resented by. the player. ’.Mr Smith upheld the opinion that the player had left the field .through injuries. Mr Vincent moved that the player in question be cautioned. Mr Green seconded. —Carried. SELECTORS.. It was decided that senior and junior selectors be appointed and an advisory Board elected. Mr D. Green was appointed senior selector and Mr D. G. McMillan the junior selector. PATETONGA TRAMWAY. Mr P. Aro reported having interviewed Mr E. Taylor, resident engineer with the Lands Department, with the object of obtaining a reduction for players oh .the tramway at Pastetonga. Mr Taylor had promised to consider the matter and endeavour to make satisfactory arrangements. The blackberry menace up-river is regarded very seriously by members of the Wanganui River Domain Board (states the Wanganui ‘‘Herald’’). The birds carried the seed, which was deposited in the bush 1 , but the plants did not grow until the bush was cleared. The growth of the berry on lands controlled by the Lands Department was extensive, and no effort has been made by it to clear the land. Members agreed that it -was a, very serious ma' ter, and that they could see no end io it. “I.t will soon be like the West oast,” remarked a member. “There is only one blackberry bush there, but it extends from Nelson to Kokitika.” Absolutely Wep. Too much prominence cannot be given to the fact that it is dangerous to give cough medicines containing opium or other narcotics to children. Narcotics are not necessary in a cough medicine, and this fact has been proven by the success pf Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy, which is absolutely free from Opium, Morphia, Heroin. Chloroform, Chlorodyne, Ether or any other poisonous substance or anodyne. This is npt merely an assertion of the manufacturers, but each bottle of Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy bears the Government analysis showing that it has been officially declared free from all narcotics. Sold by all chemists and storekeepers.
