PATETONGA. ADDITIONS TO SCHOOL. ■\ A meeting of the Patetonga School Committee was held on April 21. Mr Farrell, the Education Board’s architect, wrote stating that the builder would be finishing the new addition to the school at once. The chairman; Mr H. N. Taylor, expressed appreciation of Mr Farrell’s attention to all requests made by the Committee. The new addition tp the school provided room' fpr 84 pupils, and was very modern in style, with plenty of light find ventilation. The present roll shows 82 pupils attending. A GOOD, REPORT. The Inspector’s report on the school was considered very satisfactory, and, the high standard, of efficiency showed that much good work had been done by the teachers. TEACHER’S RESIDENCE. The Boardi’s refusal to buy a house offered as a school residence was discussed. ' Mr Fitness stated that the constant change of teachers- in the past was due the fact that married teachers were unable to apply for the school, as no house was available. It was decided that a grant for a school house be requested from the Education Department. The school picnic accounts were presented, duly audited, and showed, a satisfactory balance. The chairman thanked the Committee for their regular attendance and willing cooperation during the past year.
