PERSONAL.
The Hon. J. G. Coates-. Minister of Public Works, will be in Paeroa from Tuesday evening until -Thursday afternoon of next week.
Mr J. J. Rowe, stationmaster a| Paeroa, returned yesterday after being absent for about a month on his annual leave
Mr A. White will be leaving Paeroa shortly for Whangariei district. At last night’s meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council, when Mr White, wh.j was a member of the Council, tendered his resignation, His Worship the Mayor (Mr P. E. Brenan) said he regretted that Cr. White was leaving the district. Cr- White said his little son had not had good health for some ■time past.. He thanked the councillors for all the kindness and courtesy during past, gears'? There had been differences of opinion, but these had not been carried outside the council room. He would also like particularly to congratulate the Finance Committee, under Cr. W. Marshall, for its fine work. The Mayor said Cr. White, Who had been on the Council for the past three years, had always done his share of the work. On behalf pf the Council he expressed appreciation of Cr. White’s services. Cr, Edwards and others endorsed the Mayor’s'remarks.
