HOSPITAL BOARD LOANS.
REPLY TO THAMES REQUESTS The Public Trustee, answering a letter from the Thames Hospital Board in reference to a proposed loan for. £7OOO, said a hospital could raise loans by issuing debentures, State guaranteedi, repayment of rhe same, with interest, being made an annual charge on the revenues of the beard. Such loans matured within 21 years, the sinking fund being £2 16s per cent,, per annum. If the Thames Hospital Board was prepared to proceed on these lines he would entertain its application and put it before the Investment Board, upon whom the decision of granting or otherwise woud rest. The secretary (Mr G. Tonge) said he couid not understand the purpose of the £2 16s per centum per, annum ; this was at the rate of £2B per £lOOOIt was decided to hold the matter over pending further information. CHARGE AT HOMES. Mr ' Death contended that the charge at the District Homes should be made greater to inmates' from other hospital districts. Mr W. J. Hall supported... Mr Death moved, and Mr Hall seconded, a motion that the charge for outsiders be 30s.
