KEREPEEHI SPORTS.

SUCCESSFUL FIXTURE. ATTENDANCE OF 1500. The Kerepeehl Sports Associations fifth annual sports, 'held on Easter Monday, proved a great success, there being approximately 1500 pie-present. The weather was ijMSK the sky being overcast keep off the hot sun, and a mild breeze blowing. Between £6O and £7O was taken at the gate, this amount being exclusive of entrances by right of membership tickets. The secretary (Mr J. Twist) arid Mr L- A. W. Bagnall had a very busy time in the tent conducting the clerical arrangements, etc., and all the officials in their respective activities had their hands' full all day. They will doubtless find satisfaction in the knowledge that their, efforts have been so fruitful of good. results. From the rising ground, to the north-east of the spacious domain the public was, able to get a good view of the events, a tide of 'humanity flowing down to the ring to witness the eyer-popular chops. The Hauraki’ Band (Thames) discoursed much-appreciated music, under the conductprship of G. Fisher, among the airs being "Forget-Me-Not,” waltz; "Maritana”; “Challenge March” ; and “Semiride..” The following is the list-of officials 1 : President, A. Time, ltn |9s. * Pretty made a magnificent effort to overcome :his handicap, and, ..was within ,a stroke of the axe of tieing with the winner. The, contest was exciting, and the crowd barracked, loudly and applauded the winners. Kerepeehi Cup (£B, £2, £l, also I* Pedrolti Cup)>—Scott 1, McCollum 2 Clotworthy 3. There were about 20 entries', and the race, provided some fun. Scott romped home with plenty to spare. Underhand Chop/ißi.n blocks (£6 and £2).—W. Herkt, 1, Voykovitch 2, R. Angel 3. Time, Im 4‘s, A. Duffull, oh scratch, made a great effort, and finished up fourth. Cockatoos’ Race, lead horse mount, and ride to post.>— ~P. Harris 1J; Nicholson 2. There were seven staled ers. Won by only Half a length. Flag Race.—Percy Harris 1» L. James 2. Time, 3m 20s. The rider had to bring to the judges eight flags, the-furthest one to be brought first. Five starters. Rest All-round Jumper, oyer five, hurdles, points taken off for faulty jumping.—C- Gosper’s 1, Handleys 2. T. Scott’s animal proved the best jumper, but lacked pace. District Relay, each district to nominate three horses and riders, course to be taken in three stages, distance 7 fur. —Patetonga 1, Turua 2.
