AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION.
“CAN GO TO THE DEVILS THAMES COUNTY MEMBERS!. KANGAROO ACROBATICS ADVISED A postscript is often more interesting than the letter to which it is subjoined ; this- was so in .the case of a.‘ communication from Mr James Dobson, of “Game Farm,’’ Aratapu, which. c,ame before the Thames County’ Council oh Wednesday, and read as follows :
“I hope your Council is keeping an: eye on the Automobile Association, that wants to collar the tyre-tax for a loyely road for their benefit. Dpn’tforget that, the small struggling, farmers have been overtaxed for thirty years past to make good roads for motor-cars whose owners did not. pay a single penny for the upkeep of the road. . Spring off your-tails like the kangaroo, and collar every penny oD the tyre-tax for thk counties, and let the Association go to the devil.” The Council merely “received” the le'ter, not thinking it necessary or desirable to take any. steps towards the absolution of the Automobile Association.
