It is reported that a little boy living near the bank of the Ohinemuri River at Paer.oa was nearly drowned a few days ago. According to one account, two women who saw the boy struggling in the stream'shrieked for help. A native arrived in a canoe, by which time the boy had sunk ter the bottom of the river, and was lying there.
