“Probably the richest land in the world,” was the reference made by the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hpn. WF. Massey, P. 0.) to the Hauraki Plains, on the occasion of the turning of the first, sod of the Hikurangi drainage scheme, of which Mfr R- S. Logan, previously in charge of tihe Hauraki Plains worfc, is engineer. The Hikurangi scheme was designed by Mr J. B.
