MINISTER’S MOVEMENTS
MR. GUTHRIE’S PLAINS VISIT, The proposed visit to the Hauraki Plains of the Hon. H- Guthrie was announced by Mr W. G. Hayward at the annual meeting of the Ngatea branch of the Farmers’ Union on Saturday. ' Mr Hayward said that Mr Guthrie would probably be in the district in a fortnight's time. The speaker, thought Ngatea was penalised with that if land were required an exorbitant price was asked. Kerepeehi and Waitakaruru could get recreation grounds, but Ngatea could get nothing. Mr McDuff: Have we asked for any ? Mr Hayward: I don’t kn.ow that we have, and I don’t think Waitakairuru has asked. He thought a piece of land near the butter factory should be acquired for recreation purposes, and he moved that a de« putation wait on the Mniister in that connection. Mr Green seconded, and the motion was carried.
