LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Sir,—Allow me to suggest to the Mayor and councillors of the Borough of Paeroa, the centre of Che Hauraki Plains and the hub of all the telephonic and railway lines penetrating the eastern coast of the North Island of the Dominion of New Zealand, that they should obtain the services of some competent photographer to portray to the admiring gaze of the readers of the “N.Z. Herald” and other newspapers the unique beauty spots which we are fortunate enough to possess instead of allowing a supposed street scene of two buildings and one decrepit horse to do duty as an illustration of Paeroan enterprise. The picture gave a very false impression, and fails to dp justice to the magnificent buildings adorning our streets, especially to tihe palatial offices of our numerous land and estate agents. The initial cost of these photographs could- easily be paid out of the loan account, and ■ the increased revenu J from the influx of population be handed over to the local beautifying society. PRO BONO PUBLICO.
