NETHERTON. PICTURE BENEFIT. About 140 people comprised the audience at the picture benefit) held in the Nebherton) Hall on Monday evening. The programme had been arranged by Mr J. Hamilton, and enjoyable pictures were screened, Supper and a dance followed the pictuies. Miss Safijant supplied the music, extras being rendered by Miss Oliver. Mr A. Spencer was M.C. Mr J. Tonkin and Master Dally obliged with vocal items. As a respit oif the evening the hall fund should benefit by £8 or £9. HARVEST FESTIVAL. The harvest thanksgiving service Held at Netherton on Monday by the Presbyterian minister), Rev. F. McDonald,. was very well attended. The .hall was tastefully decorated, and there was a good display of fruits of all description. A harvest thanksgiving social was held on Tuesday evening, and the shall was again well filled. Along with the splendid display of fruit and vegetables was a’ considerable amount of home-lmade bread and butter. A good musical programme was arranged, and was contributed to by local end Paeroa talent,. The following rendered items : Mrs E. Smith, Misses M. Wells V.. Raffil, B. Jones, D. Jamieson, Messrs Way and Thorbum. An excellent and ample supper was supplied by the ladies, who gave ample evidence of their abilities to cater for the requirements oif the palate. AL the conclusion of a most enjoyable - and successful evening Mr Marks, of the firm of Parker and Marks, auctioned the harvest contributions. SUNDAY SCHOOL PICNIC. The Paeroa and Netherton Presbyterian Sunday Schools were entertained at a picnic in Mr Barnett’s paddock, Netherton, on Saturday. The Paeroa quota left by cars and Mr Short’s motor bus. There was a large gathering, and a very pleasant day was spent by the adults and children alike, the latter having games and races arranged for them, NGATKA. , ECCLESIASTICAL. been announced that the Rev.
