A very successful sale was conducted by Messrs Parker and Marks at Mr Avey’s, Hill Street, Paeroa, on Saturday, all the oak furniture, can pets, and pictures selling at- reasonable prices. In the amateur judging competition at the Show at Ngatea "on Saturday Mr J., L. Hanna again secured a first prize- His other win was at the show in Paeroa, in December last.

The Paeroa cricket team inflicted a crushing defeat on Thames at Paeroa on Saturday, winning by an innings and 34 runs. Scores in the first innings were, Paeroa 212 (Furley 59, Carroll 48, Halliday 31, Bowden 24) I Thames 74. Thames in their second innings made 104 (G. Dare 58 not out). For Paeroa Carroll took 13 wickets for 64 runs., A. "report will appear in Wednesday’s issue.

A demonstration on Jersey cattle will be given in the Domain at Paeroa on Friday next, at one p.m., by Mr H. E. B Watson, Jersey demonstrator. All farmers "are invited to attend.
