TURUA SCHOOL.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Turua Schoch Committee was' held in the school on Monday evening. The following atn tended : Messrs R. G- Millar (chairman), J. McConnell, C. Ansford, C. Dale, W. Madgwick, and S. WilliamsMr J. L. Brownlee, headmaster, also attended. The headmaster's report contained the following statements: /Average attendance for quarter ending December, 1921, 150.4 ; average for yea l -’ 1921, 131 ; average for year 1921, allowing for decrease of 10 per cent, in the second quarter through epidemic, 134.55. Changes in staff: Mrs M. F. Brownlee (resigned.) is replaced by Miss 0. O’Neill (temporary). Miss A. Friesen (temporary) is replaced DY Miss I. York (temporary). The Education Board inquired pet 4 letter the number of pupils who would be attending the technical school. The headmaster was asked to ascertain the number, The possibilities of holding a school picnic were discussed, and Messrs Ansford, McConnell, and Brownlee were appointed to gather full information on the matter. The Education Board wrote making a grant of £lB for tarring and sand- ■ ing the school grounds. It was decided to invite tenders for the work. Messrs McConnell, Millar, and Ansford were put in charge of discing the grounds. A resolution of thanks was passed to the Hauraki Plains A. and P- Association for the invitation to the school children to g.ttend the forthcoming show on Saturday week. Mr Ansford was, appointed secretary, vice Mr C. Farley (resigned).
