REVIVAL AT KEREPEEHL ABSENCE OF RECORD BOOKS. A meeting of sportsmen firom the Kerepeehi district was held in the Kerepeehi Hall- on Wednesday even-i ing. The attendance numbered nearly 30. Mr A. Chatfield, convener of the meeting, was elected to the chair and explained that sports gatherings had been held for several years past in Kerepeehi and the meeting, was called to ascertain whether the sports should be held again this year. Messrs J. Twist and J, Murdoch were of the opinion that as gatherings had been held in the past, and were successful, they should continue to hold the events next Easter Monday. Mr P. R. Henry thought it would be a pity to let the sports drop, but if they were continued the new body would have to face the debits from the previous year. He had a small sum due to him for prize money, but he would forego that amount. (Applause.) There was a cup in Thames belonging to the sports committee. Mr J. H. Nicholson said that he had often tried to find the late secretary, and had tried again that day, with no result, but he had come across several to whom debts were owing and some to whom debts had been paid. If the club was to be revived they must be careful with prize moneys. Mr L. A.. W. Bagnall said he had £25 left oyer from previous years’ sports. A Voice : It‘s a wonder he (the late secretary) missed that. Mr Bagnall: Could we not force the late secretary to give -us a statement? Mr Wilson : We must find him first. Mr Nicholson said he knew of several who would forego money due to them. Mr Chatfield: That is the spirit we like to see, but we should pay the debts. He thought a small Committee should lie set up to deal with .the matter. Mr Murdoch: Would we get any satisfaction If we found the secretary? Mr Chatfield : If we got his books we would know where we stand. Mr Henry said that the same state of affairs had arisen with, the Hauraki Plains A- and P. Association, which decided that even if the secretary was located no money would be obi tainable. He thought the same state of affairs existed with the sports club. Mr .Bagnall moved that a committee of three be set up to go info the accounts and to take any action necessary in the matter. Mr Murdoch sec-1 onded. and the motion was carried. Messrs L. A. W. Bagnall, J. Wilson, and J. H. Nicholson were elected t> the committee. Mr Murdoch proposed that sports should be held ’on the same date as in previous years. Mr Bagnall seconded. Mr Nicholson said that other bodies wanted Kerepeehi’s date. Ilf it was not gone on with another body would claim the date. ; The motion was carried. | ELECTION OF OFFICERS..
