THE BUTTER SUBSIDY.

DELAY IN PAYMENT. FARMERS GROW ANXIOUS. DIFFICULTY OVER AUDIT.. The unpaid portion of the butte.’ subsidy, which has been exercising the minds of the dairy farmers in th 3 Waikato and the Hauraki Plains, was alluded to in the House again yesterday by Mr H. Poland (Ohinemuri). The farmers, he said, were very anxious to get the final payment. It meant hundreds of pounds to members of the farming community, who, in mbny instances, were hard pressed to meet their liabilities ar. the present time. The sum of £50,000 was due to suppliers of the New Zealand Dairy Company. A resolution had been passed at Morrinsville asking him to use his best endeavours to have this money paid. He asked the Prime Minister if the difficulty over the audit had been solved, and when a settlement would be made. Mr Massey said he hoped the House would understand that the Government was not holding this money for the sake of holding it. They could still pay 20s in the £. The difficulty was over the audit. Mr T. W. Rhodes (Thames): That is just about finished. Mr Massey: But it is not finished. It was giving the Audit Department a great deal of trouble. As soon as possible the money would be paid but. The Audit Department said the posii tion was so complicated that it was impossible to finish the work without delay. Mr J. A. Young (Waikato) urged that as soon as a certificate was received from the Audit Department the money should be remitted. A.sum of between £50,000 and £60,000 was due to the sharpholders of the company. ( Mr Ma-ssey promised that this would be done. IT’S A MISTAKE. Many people in ,a misguided effort to get rid of backache rely on plasters, liniments, and ether makeshifts. The right treatment is kidney treatment, and a remarkably recommended kidney medicine is Doan’s Backache Kidney Pills? The foltowing is an experience typical of the work of this grand remedy:— Mr J. L. Slader, Wood Street, Paoroa, says: “When benefit is gained In the way of health, it behoves a man to say how he gained it. Consequently I write to let you know that I received lasting benefit from the use of Doan’s Backache Kidney Pills. I took a course of this temedy for backache and weak back, and they effected a complete cure. I sincerely hope that all who suffer with kidney troubles will give this remedy a trial.-’ Fourteen years later Mrs Slader says . "Doan’s Backache Kidney Pills permanently cured my husband of backache, for he. has been free from this ailment for fourteen yeark” Doan’s Backache Kidney Pills are sold by all chemists and storekeepers at 3s per bottle, or will be posted on receipt of price by Foster-McClellan Co., 15 Hamilton Street, Sydney.
