PLAINS INDIGNATION MEETING.
Sir,—Re indignation meeting held at Ngatea. How was a man to verify ail statements when the Council had not got out a balance-sheet ? It should have been out ten months ago. The Council knows all the statements were true enough. When the councillors wanted to carry the loan they went round begging ratepayers to vote for it, and told them they would put on fourpence rate if they did not carry the loan. Councillors should know better than to go begging ratepayers on polling day to go and vote for the loan, and offer them free rides in motor-cars. FAIRPLAY. Ngatea, February 3, 1922.
