CHOPPING HANDICAPS. The following handicaps have been declared by Mr C.L. Hardy for the wood-chopping events at the Hauraki Plains Athletic Sports to be held at Turua next Thursday:

Many notable axemen are included in the above, and judging by the close finishes at Hikutaia last week there should also be some exciting contests at Turua. Pretty, Fisher, Duffull, Herkt, O’Sullivan, Costello, Angel and Douglas, familiar names at other chopping contests, will be again in action with revised handicaps..
The handicaps for the foot races are not yet availably.
