The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports At Hamilton on Tuesday, January 24, we had a small yarding of all classes of stock, with the exception of store, cattle, which were poorly represented. Beef showed slight improvement on the previous week. Steers, which were few in numbe>’, made to £6 10s for mediupi .weights; heavy cows realised up .to £5 15.,.., lighter weights £2 10s to £4 ; empty cows £1 9s to £1 16s; bulls £1 6s to £2 Is. Sheep were in good supply, and under strong, competition sold at rates well in advance plf late rates. Fat wethers madg from 13s 7d to 15s 6d; fat ewes .10s to Ils 7d. . A pen of Shropshire ewes reached 12s 9d, second quality 8s sd. Lambs were again in great demand, best stores reaching 10s 2d, others 4te 8d to 6s 6dj The yarding of pigs was heavy, and prices were fully equal to and, in the case of porkers, primer than the previous week. Baconers made from £2 5s to £2 12s, porkers 30s to £2, slips 16s '.'J 225, weanehs 12s 6d.
