GALLOPING THROUGH.

PARLIAMENTARIAN FLYING VISIT.

After the proposed itinerary for *!he Parliamentary tour of the Hauraki Plains had been read from Friday’s issue .of the “Gazette” by Mr Mclnnis at Kaihere on Saturday evening’s meeting, . suggestions were made to expound the settlers’ troubles at length.

Mr Mclnnis hinted that the party could stay only half ah hour, and would not have time to listen to all that the deputations had to say.

Another speaker pointed out that the party would have a number ( of de-, putations to meet, and could not afford the time to stay long at Kaihere.

Mr Mclnnis: If the .party is only going through on a flying visit the benefit to the district will be reduced to an incalculable minimum. I would like tp see them galloping through; it would be a red 1 -,letter day for the Hauraki Plains. But I (fail to see that that a flying visit could do much good.
