The Farmers’ 00-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports :— At Hamilton on Tuesday, January 10, our yarding of sheep and cattle was smalj. The change of sale day from Thursday to Tuesday was no doubt partly responsible for this. No fat cattle were penned. The advertised line of empty cows, which were extremely well bred, drew fair competition, the best realising from £2 7s to £2 Ils; smaller and lower-condi-tioned sorts 30s to 35s ; 3-vear steers made to £3 7s.- Speaking generally, bidding was brisker and cattle of any class could have been placed at improved values. Sheep were also in short supply. Fat wethers brought 13s 7d for rather coarse Quality; ewes, well fattened, 10s 6d; fat lambs good, 15s 3d to 16s 4id. Pigs were penned in full numbers, but competition was duller than anything so far experienced,, baconers making from 37s 6d to £2 ss, porkers 20s to 30s, slips 8s to Ils, weaners 2s 6d to 5&.
