TURUA-NETHERTON ROAD.
Sir,—With reference tp Mr Henry's letter which appeared in your paper a few days ago. I am pleased to note that he has found a permanent road. I have been looking in and around Auckland for such a road, and so fa' have only found those made pf concrete to stand up to the work. I shall be glad if Mr Henry will give a clear statemept as to how the ratepayers are going to pay the rates which are to be demapded in the near future from those within the area set out to carry the £33,000 loan. From the notice I have seen the rate is 5%d in the £. I think the unimproved value of most of the land Is about £2O per acre; this means 2d per acre for this one loan. R. W. BAGNALL.
