Loan of £33,000 for HJie Construction of Tai’ Macadam Roads in the Tiirua ■ Notlierton Roads Loan Special Rating Area. is hereby given: 1. THAT it is the intention of the Hauraki Plains County Council, under the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920, The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913, and amendments thereto, respectively, and all other Acts, if any, it in that behalf enabling, to borrow the sum of £33,000 for the following purposes : — (a) Improving, metalling, and laying down in tar ma cadam, Turua-Netherton Road from Turua Post Office to Troughton’s — 10,300 (b) Improving, metalling and laying down in tar ma j cadam, Piako Road from Turua Post Office to Hicks’ Corner — -- LB4O (c) Improving, metalling, and laying down in tar macadam, Turua - Orongo Road from Turua Post Office northwards 200 chains --- -- — (d) Improving, metalling, and laying down in tar macadam, Huirau Road from Turua-Netherton Road to Gumtown Road — — 2,130 (e) Improving, metalling, and laying down in tar macadam, Wharepoa-Kere-peehi Road from Ferry to Lands Department boundary — — — 3,580 (f) Improving,- metalling, and laying down in tar macadam, Orchard East Road from Lands Department boundary to Turua-Neth-erton Road — — 2,460 (g) Improving, metalling, and laying down in tar macadam Gumtown Road — 2,179 (h) Improving, metalling, and laying down in tar macadam, Huirau Road from Gumtown Road tp Suttons. 1,950 (i) improving, metalling, and laying down in tar macadam, Raratuna Street from Church to corner of Oparia Road — — (j) Improving, metalling, and laying down in tar macadam, Oparia Road from Geisler’s gate to Mill Drain — — — 500 (k) Interest, sinking fund, and preliminary expenses for first year — — 2 £33.000 2. THAT as security for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the said loan it is the intention of the said Council to make and levy a special rate of five pence halfpenny (5%d) in the £ upon the rateable value (unimproved) of all rateable property in the TuruaNetherton Roads Loan Special Rating Area hereinafter described. 3. THAT it is the intention of the said Council to 4>ay out of the loan the cost of raising the loan and the interest and sinking fund for the first year.

THE loan is for a period of 36% years, at such rate of interest not exceeding so much as may be authorised tinder section 11 of The Finance Act, 1921, together with an additional charge to provide the necessary sinki ing fund. The boundaries of the said Special Rating Area are ’as follows: —Commencing at the south-easteim corner of Section 35 of Orongo Settlement in Block XL, Thames S.D., thence generally in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of the County (the Waihou River) to the old boundary between Thames and Ohinemuri Counties (in Section 96, Turua Estate), thence in a westerly direction along such las.t-mentioned boundary till it intersects Section IA, Block VII., Waihou Survey District, thence in a northerly direction along the eastern boundaries of the said Section IA, Section 7, Horohia-Opon Blocks, Sections 33, 32, Section 1, Horahia Settlement, Lots 3 and 2 of Sections 7 of Block 11., Waihou Survey District, Sections 14, 26, 13, and Ngataipua 181 Block in Block XI., Thames Survey District, to the southwestern boundary of the said Orpngo Settlement, thence along the southwestern and southern boundaries of the said settlement tp the point of commencement.
