MOBBINSVILLE’S BEPEESENTATION. An account for £5O Os lid, fee and disbursements charged by Messrs McGregor and McPherson as solicitors who acted for the Borough of Morrlnsville in connection with Morrinsville’s ’ opposition to the proposals of the Thames Harb,our Board before the Commission held some time ago, came before the Borough at the last meeting. The firm sent a covering letter stating that in view of the : fact that prominent residents of Morrinsville had given evidence in. favour the Harbour Board’s scheme, the of the Commission, which recommended a reduction of Morrinsyllle’s rate from one-eighth of a penny to one-sixteenth of a penny, might be considered as eminently satisfactory. . Cr. Howie: It is not a big amount. I. think it is very reasonable. : The Mayor (Mr F. J. Marshall) ■ You employed them, and you could not expect them to do the work for less. Cr. W. H. Milliken: Mr McGregor put a lot of energy into the work, and did his very best, Cr. Gifford :■ He saved us one-six- ' fceehthoif a penny in the pound on the capital value. <Pbe account was passed for payjjfept without further comment.
