RAINFALL ON PLAINS.

TBAH’S TOTAL 34.31 INCHES. Comparing the last year’s rainfall —34.31 inches—with the figures of previous years, it appears as though there ha& been less rain on the Hauraki Plains than usual, but it has been quite sufficient for the farming community, especially during recent months. The heaviest fal.l for the year was during October, when 589 inches was recorded, while in June the total was 4.56. During January and December the falls were also considerable —3.52 and 3.48, respectively. The driest months were February and March, when only .72 and .82 inches, respectively, were recorded. The .following table, compiled from figures supplied by the Lands Department office at Kerepeehi, gives the rainfalls for each month during the years 1921, 1920, and 1919:

Figures for previous years are as follows: 1918, 46.07; 1916, 52.19; 1915, 50.58 ; 1914, 27.42; 1913, 35.05.
