TALL FESCUE MENACE.
ON THE HAURAKI PLAINS. ACTION BY COUNTY COUNCIL. The tall fescue menace was discussed by the Hauraki Plains County Council at its monthly meeting at Ngatea on Monday, the chairman, Cr J. O. Miller, presiding. With regard to a recent request bv the Council that fescue be added tothe list of noxious weeds, information was received from the Minister of Agriculture that inquiries had been made and Hull consideration given the matter, but it was not considered that the ■ circumstances generally warranted action being taken in that direction. y
The councillors thought fescue was a menace to the Plains, and Cr. C. W. Harris moved that as the Council considered tall fescue was a menace to the Plains the Department of Agriculture be .asked to send an inspector to report thereon. The motion was seconded by Cr, A, Chatfield, and carried.
