Pile-driving apparatus for t{he Turua wharf is now on the site.

The dates of the Hauraki A. and P. Slhow, Wednesday and Thursday, 7th and Bth of December 1 , are very near, and it is necessary for everyone in the district to lend assistance in any way possible in order to make the two-day fixture a success.

To-morrow afternoon the Waikino Cricket Club is ito play the ,local club in the Paeroa Domain. The Paeroa team will be selected from the following : Shand, Pivott, Furley, Martin, Bowden, Ryde, BeMuham, Jenkinson, Farrow, Halliday, Walmsley, and Poland, who are requested to be on the.ground at 1.45 o’clock sharp.

Working bees are in attendance at the Turua recreation ground every Saturday. A speaker at a public meeting at Turua on Wednesday remarked that anyone troubled with billiousness or other minor complaint' would find relief therefrom - by taking exercise with the working bee every Saturday.

The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd.., Hamiljton, have received the following cable from their London office : “Mutton and lamb values have declined ; expect price to decline further ; large ■supply of; fresh-killed m'eat. Tallow market is dull, witn downward tendency. Oats demand and prices arc improved slightly.”

“Will 'those 'who live in the outer area, as it were, have footpaths when the town board is formed ?” asked a speaker at a meeting at Turua on Wednesday evening. “We don’t want fbotpaths to the farms,” replied the chairman of the meeting, Mr J. Bennett, “because we wear big boots ouc there” (Laughter.)
