A Palmerston North resident has furnished the Manawatu Times with a cure for diphtheria, which was first announced by Dr. Del thill, of Paris, in 1899, and which he has himself proved to be infallible. The process is simple enough: pour about two tablespoonsful of liquid (tar on an iron pan, pour as much .turpentine over it, and set fire to it. The resinous smoke that arises will detach the fibrous membrane, and the patient will soon fall into a sleep. BOWEL COMPLAINT IN CHILDREN. The first unnatural looseness of the bowels in a child should have proper attention, as bowel complaint is a more serious disease ip children than in adults. It often results fatally, and is, in fact, one of the most common causes of infant mortality. Almost every case can be relieved when properly treated. Chamberlain’s Co ic and Diarrhoea Remedy is especially valuable in all bowel complaints, and when given as directed prompt reief always follows. Sold by all chemists and storekeepers.
