NGATEA. TENNIS. The official opening ,of the Ngatea Tennis Club is to be held op Saturday, November 26. . The; Hopai tennis opening is - set down for to-morrow, while the Plains v. Paeroa match will probably eventuate on December 3. A ball will be he’lcTat Ngatea next Friday. HALL ENLARGEMENTS. A deputation from the Ngatea Hall Committee watted on Messrs Brenan and Co., Ltd., and LeManquais, Lamb and Co. Ltd., , of Paeroa, in an endeavour to make satisfactory arrangements for, the enlargement of the Ngatea Hall. The deputation consisted of Messrs G. T. Davidson (chairman), W. S. Hayward, and W. J. Clare, and received hear.ty support from the Paeroa business, firms mentioned above. The Hall Committee is undoubtedly moving in the. right direction in taking steps to enlarge the . hall, as at every function, be' it a dance or tne movies, the hall is always hopelessly overcrowded. It is also revenue-pro-ducing, a total of £l3O being collected from its hire during the last eight months. The enlargement proposals include almost doubling the seating accommodation and making an addition of a stage. KEREPEEHI. THE DREDGES. The new walking dipper dredge is at present in full working order, ai*d the Bucyrus dredge, which has been in the course of! construction, is at present ready for work. TURUA. JHE WHARF. The bach and workshop in connection with the erection of the new wharf, is nearing completion, and there is every prospect of the construction of the. wharf being proceeded with almost immediately. TENNIS CLUB’S DANCE.

The dancing spaqe in the Victoria Hall, Turua, was fully taxed last evening, when the Turua Tennis Club held a most successful*dance. No better music could have been desired than that . rendered by Mr Rowntree, the perfect time pleasing the 50 or 60 couples, who came from near and far. A special launch had arrived from Kopu, bringing a party composed of Thames and Kopu dancing “fans.” Other visitors hailed from Ngatea, Kerepeehi, and Kopuarahi. \ Extras were played by Mrs Mules, Miss Torr, and Mr Prussing. Mr D. G. McMillan capably carried out the duties of M.C. The floor jwas fast and favourable to good dancing, while V dainty supper added to the success of the evening.
