MANAGERS’ REPORTS. Hauraki Mines.'—The rise from the 300 ft, level .to reach the point where the gold was obtained from the drive at the rise and winze connedtion has holed through. The rpef is being stripped, and .will be taken down in a few days. The rise on Legge’s reaf from the intermediate drive, at its intersection with’ the main slide, is up 18ft. The reef is up Itp 6in in width, and continues to carry favourable indications for gold. The drive on tlrn break in the Welcome Find section is ’in 233 ft. Pieces of quartz are being met with in the break, and the flow of water is increasing. At the 400 ft level going towards the Welcome Find section the work of cleaning up and relaying the road has been suspended, awaiting the tapping of the reef and water from the 300 ft level. The 400 ft level has been cleaned up and the road laid to the new reef, and cleaning up oh .the reef itself is under way. It is intended to sink winzes at two points where gold was got in the level The first point has how been reached, and a start will be made at once to open out a chamber ready for

sinking. f Evening Star.—The drive west ,of No. 1. winze on the Waiotah’i-Cambria reef has been advanced 4ft. The total width of the reef exposed is 4ft, and no walls are showing. The ore is carrying a gdod deal of blende, and a portion of the mineralised vein shows colours of gold. The drive east is now out 20ft through the reef, and no wall is showing. The ’ore is still very hard and carrying a high percentage. of antimony. The drive off the winze on Bird’s leader is out 7ft. No quartz has been broken down since starting to drive. Severall mini er,al veins are crossing the face, and the country is a good class of andesite.
