DAIRY FARMERS. Herd Testing. WITH the increased price of all commodities, and the high cost of land and stock, it behoves every farmer to find out exactly the butterfat produced by the individual cbws in his herd. To enable him to do this the undersigned are offering THH FAMOUS W. & S. WEIGHING AND SAMPLING MACHINE for which they hold the agency in the North. ’ The accuracy of this machine was recently demonstrated at Mr C. S. Puckey’s homestead, when Mr T. R. McCarthy, Manager of the Kaitaia Dairy Factory, submitted it to a careful test, concerning which he reports as follows:— “ The weight of milk registered in the container was checked with a tested scale and found to be correct. Four cows were tested, from which two different samples were taken, one from W. & S. Container, and, . after emptying the container, an ordinary dipper sample was taken. Results were as follows W. & S. Machine Ordinary Dipper No. of Cow Test Sample Test 1 6*2% 6.2% 2- .5-3% 5-3% 3 7% • 1% 4 4-9$ ? , 4.9% I can thoroughly recommend the W. & S. Weighing and Sampling Machine, and am thoroughly satisfied that a correct record of weight of milk and tests of same can be obtained. Yours faithfully, , . (Signed) T. R. MCCARTHY,' Mngr. Kaitaia Dairy Co.” We would add that these machines can be attached to any type of miiking plant in a few seconds. Full particulars from Wai lace & Stephenson TE AROHA.
