The, floor of the Central Theatre was in a most abominable condition for dancing last evening. This was due to the fact that recently a disinfectant preparation was put on the floor for health reasons. The preparation, it appears, is a dust-layer, anil therefore nullified the bail-room powder put on, leaving the surface almost sticky. Some people say that the floor would have been all right had the committee of the Paeroa Rugby Union, who were- holding the dance, been able to secure the proper grease to put a surface on, which, unfortunately, they were unsuccessful in their attempts to procure; others say that after treatment with “Glycerole” (dhe preparation used), a floor comes up better stilil for dancing than before treatment, but that the ? Centra’! Theatre: was treate.l rather 'too recently, not sufficient time having elapsed to alllow the mixture to be absorbed into the boards. However, it will doubtless be in good order again long before next season.
