When the Morrinsyille Chamber of Commerce circular to local bodies inviting support of a project to secure a visit of inspection to the Hauraki Plains districts by the Ministers of the Crown and members of Parliament was read at the .Te Aroha Borough Council meeting His Worship the Mayor (Mr R. Coulter) suggested that such a visit should afford a favourable opportunity for bringing under their notice the advantages of more direct communication, via Thompson’s Track,, with Tauranga and Katikati. The local Chamber of Commerce was organising a visit pf inspection to the track at an early date, and if Ministers and could be included in the party there should be little difficulty in convincing them of the advantages of improving the highway. Cr. Ritchie remarked that he understood the postal authorities were keenly in favour of Thompson’s Track being made fit for motor-traffic, for it would greatly improve the mail services between Tauranga and.the Waikato towns. —MorrinsvilUe Chamber of, Commerce is to be asked, for further information.
