MARKET REPORT. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports :— Beef has b.een ■ coming forward in fair supply, with competition steady at late values. Mutton is also in fair supply. Values are on a par with those lately ruling. Not many shorn- lots have so far appeared on the market. Store ’ Cattle. —The probable rise mentioned in our • last report has eventuated, and everywhere a much brighter tone is .All .classes of stock have shared, in the advance, which is most marked in empty cows and yearling steers. Forward conditioned bullocks are much sought after, and gopd empty heifers still maintain their popularity. Empty cows are in brisk demand. The prevailing fancy at present seems to be to put these back to the bull again this season. Yearling steers have advanced with gloat rapidity, which was not unexpected in, view of their recent marked neglect. ' Store Sheep.—There is a slight enquiry for sheep off shears. Ewes with lambs have somewhat slackened. Speaking generally there seems very little stability ni the sheep market. '■ Dairy cattle still continue tp sell freely if close to profit. That essential feature, condition, is l , lipwever, sadly lacking. Pigs have considerably declined in value, the heavy yardings no doubt par.tly accounting for this. The custom of bringing pigs to the yards seems to be gaining in popularity amongst farmers. Returns indicate that they are not losers thereby.
