SOCIAL & PRESENTATION
. AN ENJOYABLE FUNCTION. A social under the auspices of St. Paul’s Church committee was held in the Parish Hall on Wednesday 1 evening, and proved a signal success., The floor. was in splendid order,, and t,hc decorations very fine. During the evening ,a presentation was made to Mrs C, Clews, one of the most energetic workers for the church, and who is leaving shortly to reside in Auckland. In making a presentation of a gold brooch., set with gems. Mrs Thorp, president, of the Ladies’ Guild, paid a tribute to Mrs Clews’ loyal and untiring ■services. The music was supplied by variousladies, and left nothing to be desired. Interspersed with the dancing were several vocal items capably rendered by various artists, and highly appreciated: The gathering was representative of all denominations, and everyone enjoyed .themselves immensely. A bountiful supper was supplied by the"members of the Guild, and thoroughly appreciated.
