WAIKINO NEWS.
(“Gazette'* .Correspondent.) On Friday last a social dance took place in the Victoria Hall tor •the funds of the Waihi Hospital, and was giveh by the Waitekauri and Golden Cross Lodge, Manchested Unity of Oddfellows. The hall was. beautifully decorated for the occasion. There Was a gpod attendance, including brethren and visitors from other parts of the district; The -matron and nurses from the ,Waihi Hospital were present also. The dance commenced ’at 8 p.m., •the usual orchestra being in attendance. The M’s.C. were Bros. Steve Morgan (P.P.G;M:) and A. C. Whitehouse (P.G.), who performed their duties to the satisfaction of all present A euchre tournament also took place, the winners being Mrs P Brown and Mr Parker. \ 0' An adjournment. to supper was made at 10.30. p.m., the extras being played by Misses D. Jessney and Shaw,. The whole of -the arrangements were in the hands of the secretary, ' Bro. D. B. Currie, P.G., who is to be congratulated on making the function a success.
